As a VP at Moody’s Local (ML), you will play a key role developing and updating fundamental and structure finance methodologies used by our Rating Analysts. With your understanding of economics and credit risk, you will produce thought-leading methodologies used directly in our Core Strategic Objectives. What will the VP-SA Methodologies Development do?

  • Author and/or project-manage a group of methodologies throughout all phases from development through approval
  • Work with the relevant rating teams and other pertinent partners to develop methodologies which meet Credit Standards criteria for analytical relevance, consistency, and transparency.
  • Author additional internal guideline to complement methodologies as needed.
  • Develop, review, and edit methodologies
  • Coordinate with the Financial Engineer to assure timely deployment of scorecards and other relevant tools needed for methodology application.
  • Coordinate and conduct training sessions with the rating teams to deploy new methodologies.
  • Compile and maintain tracking information for the portfolio of methodologies
  • Assist with ad-hoc quantitative and analytical projects/tasks.
  • Interact with other teams as needed to achieve desired goals.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Specific Responsibilities Include:
  • Lead projects on improving existing fundamental and structure finance methodologies, in addition to developing new methodologies used by ML Credit Rating Analysts.
  • Work along different analytical teams in ML and relevant partners to update and develop the methodologies.

Qualificações

  • Master’s degree in economics, finance, business or other quantitative field is required. CFA is considered a plus

Languages

  • Sophisticated oral and written communications skills in Spanish & English, Portuguese is nice to have

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in fundamental and structure finance credit analysis that included assigning risk ratings to issuers and transactions.
  • Experience in leading or contributing in the creation credit rating methodologies
  • Excellent communications skills –Writing needs to be well-structured and logical.
  • Validated quantitative skills and analytical problem solving required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to help resolve differing analytical viewpoints.
  • Ability to lead own workflow/priorities and meet due dates.
  • Strong teammate with the ability to work independently – proactive, flexible, diligent, with the highest ethical standards.
